We had our first workshop at our new London Venue last week – the delightful Society of Authors boardroom.
A charming room with adjacent kitchen, so Graeme and I did our own catering (after a bit of M&S shopping).
This was a course designed to cover most of the main areas of landlord & tenant law and practice – a very big area to cover and I just about managed to do it in the time available!
There were a lot of intellegent questions from the audience – a mixture of landlords and letting agents, who all seemed to enjoy the day.
Here’s what they had to say:
Very good law knowledge, in depth and very applicable – Jacob Solomon
A great course on understanding the basics – Sheriaiah Larcher
From a legal persepective it was very clear. Tessa clarified some grey areas
Tessa’s impeccable knowledge and the way in which it is delivered has greatly improved my confidence as a letting agent / landlord – Frankie Potts
And finally Lynn Robinson made the point that
If you are not sure about something, its not a problem to ask Tessa to repeat it
Our next course at this venue is Bens course on dealing with local authorities and criminals which will be on 9 October.

I’m just putting the finishing touches to the training manual as we speak.
We’ll be covering ‘Councils and how to survive them’- a look into what trending out there in local authority land that will ultimately roll donw to landlords.
I’ll be pulling apart the legal principles of the top 5 mistakes that landlords make that end up up costing them money as seen by people at the complaint end of local authorities – some heartbreaking stories that could have been avoided.
And in the afternoon I’ll be teaching delegates how to use the internet to run their own background checks on tenants and not rely solely on credit referencing and we’ll end with the Easy Law Training guide to Skull-duggary – how to spot the signs that your property may be being used for criminal purposes such as cannabis farming and tampered utility meters
