Most of our in-house training is provided for social housing organisations such as Local Authorities and Housing Associations. Details of this training is set out in this section of our website.

Ben Reeve Lews
Ben is a well-known trainer and writer, who has appeared on national television. He has worked for many years doing Tenancy Relations and Enforcement work for various London Local Authorities, so he really understands the problems that social housing workers face on a daily basis.

Greatly respected for her unsurpassed knowledge and understanding of eligibility issues in housing, in particular with relation to immigration and equalities, Sue offers her seminal one days training course and a four-hour updater course.

Peter is a barrister at Zenith Chambers in Leeds, specialising in housing work, and an experienced trainer.
Peter can provide training in most areas of housing law and practice, for example, anti-social behaviour, eviction, disrepair, court procedure etc. As he is based in York, it is easy for Peter to provide training in the North (although he is happy to travel to the South too!).

Liz Davies is a barrister specialising in housing law, with a particular specialism in homeliness and the allocation of social housing. She offers training on the law relating to applications for homelessness assistance, and drawing up and implementing an allocation scheme. She can also provide training on the Equality Act 2010, Children Act duties and associated duties on local housing authorities.

Tessa occasionally does in-house training, but this is mostly for Private Sector Housing clients rather than clients in the Social Housing Sector.

Fees for our courses vary between £1,100 to £2,000 per day (depending on the course and the trainer) plus VAT and expenses.
Note that if your organisation requires training on a topic not listed for any of our regular trainers, please contact us. We will normally be able to assist and we do have access to other trainers. For example, we can also provide training on
- – HMOs,
- – bringing prosecutions under the Housing Act 2004 and
- – using the Residential Property Tribunal.
