What are workshops?

Our workshops are small classes (generally between 10-20 attendees) where the trainer is able to give more focused and detailed training on specific issues.

As the classes are small, there is much more scope for discussion and interaction, both within the group and with the trainer. People generally find them very rewarding.

About this workshop

There are an increasing number of laws and regulations that letting agents need to adhere to when running their business.  This course gives an overview of the main regulatory requirements to enable you to manage your agency business within the law.

    Topics covered will include – EU and UK legislation, case law, guidance, professional bodies and redress schemes, Unfair terms and unfair trading - an outline, Marketing the property- advertising, fees, marketing blurb, EPCs

    Forming the agreement

    Topics covered will include - fees and terms, Agent’s common law duties and the right to fees and commissions, Codes of practice and professional bodies, Redress schemes and complaints, money laundering reporting obligations

Venue details

This workshop will take place in offices of Anthony Gold (who are sponsoring this event) which are very conveniently located close to London Bridge Railway station - with excellent rail connections to South London, and the southern counties.  London Bridge is also on the Jubilee and Northern Line.

Facilities will include:

About David Smith

David is a solicitor and partner with the well-known housing law firm Anthony Gold and is also now Policy Director at the RLA.

He is an acknowledged expert on housing law, and on HMOs and tenancy deposit issues in particular (having published books on both topics), and is an experienced trainer and speaker.

Cancellations and refunds

Be safeIf you find you are no longer able to attend we will give a full refund provided you let us know within 14 days of the date of booking, and provided that the cancellation is not within the last seven days before the course date.

In view of the financial commitments we will have to make to the venue we will only give refunds for cancellations during the final seven days before the course date, at our discretion.

Finally please note that if payment is not made within 14 days of invoice or within 7 days of the course date (whichever is the earlier) we reserve the right to cancel your booking and allocate your place to another delegate, after giving you not less than 24 hours notice.
